Collaborative Global Projects

I am interested in exploring global collaborative projects and interaction for my students.

For my marketing students, my initial thought is a focus on products produced in other countries and the distribution channel that delivers them here to the U.S., and, in turn, products produced in the U.S. and the distribution channel that delivers them to the collaborating classroom's country.

For my broadcast news/video production students, my initial thought is the development and sharing of video projects that will promote understanding of different cultures.

I would be interested in using Skype and Google Applications. If you are interested, or know of resources that can help me push this forward, it would be appreciated.

Just started working with an organization that has quite a good global network in place already. A group of participating teachers and a coordinator presented recently at the PBS Celebration of Teaching and Learning Conference in NYC. Their website is iEARN.org. International Education and Resource Network. The current interactive projects can be viewed for free. There are forums, etc for kids to interact, but they are only visible for members, only $100 (and they can get that for you if needed). Take a look. You can participate in a project someone else started or you can post your own and get others to join in with you.
