Im currently conducting research on the everchanging roles in education...specifically, the role of the teacher moving from a facilitator to a moderator in student centered 21century classroom.  What are the effects of empowering students?  I have yet to find any solid journal articles that are current.  Can anyone direct me in the right direction?

Empowering Students comes with a little bit of technology usage(judicious). I have interacted with teachers in K12 in UK and US and they have agreed upon usage of mobile devices in schools. Technology surely facilitates learning, keeps the young students engaged.

Just a thought.
I've worked in a school where the children have the freedom to choose what to learn. I mean: they choose the themes for their projects, and the teacher teaches the shcoolar contents according to that. Get in touch with me, I can help you. There's a book on this methodology, in English, maybe you could use it in your research! The book is called "Lifelike Pedagogy". But get in touch with me!
Thanks Manuela for the info! I purchased the book and look foward to reading more about this facinating pedagogy!
