I give book talks to about 300 6th graders in my school 2 times a quarter. I give three talks during the day so about 100 at a time. I usually have a slideshow of the cover of the books and I deliver a little speech about each book. My question that I have for you is - Do you have any ideas or suggestions for a different format? I am looking to try something else. I was thinking of a more informal approach where I have kids talk with one another(we have the middle school philosophy so we have 3 houses of kids so the don't all know each other) in small groups or I have the books laid out on tables and they can ask questions that they are interested in. I am just tired of doing the same old thing. My concerns would be that the kids who don't like reading won't gain anything from these ideas. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
