This is the most useful room I've ever seen in web sites. It will be good chance for us to share our teaching experience...

FYI - I just noticed a new elementary catalog from School Specialty. It's a very interesting approach, matching class products with the different frameworks and funding sources. http://www.schoolspecialty.com/instructional-materials.jsp

Hello, have a website called MEET ME AT THE CORNER, Virtual Field Trips for Kids (www.meetmeatthecorner.org) . I am very interested in using technology in the classroom and developing a website that is helpful to the classroom teacher.

Dear colleagues and friends,

I was just wondering if you had some questionnaire/checklist to obtain data on foreign language teachers' perceptions on the use of Web2.0 tools. I would like to collect data on this topic. The results will be shared here, of course.

Many thanks for your assistance and cooperation in advance.

I think this group is small because professional development for teachers is in such a sorry state. Teachers want content-specific professional development targeted to their specific needs. The money is not out there for that. So, unfortunately, we carve out our learning desperately and or, sadly, not at all.

I agree! I was at the American Council for Teaching Foreign Languages conference this weekend and there was hardly any mention of how to teach Spanish for Native/Heritage speakers. It is a huge and quickly growing area, especially in California, and there is no teacher training. They assume that if you can teach Spanish as a foreign language then you can teach heritage speakers. They are completely different beasts. I would have gotten more out of preparation for English teachers. Anyone know where I can get help?

THanks,
Rachel
