With your interest in Technology and Writing, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.
Hi Kevin. I was wondering if you have students or educator friends who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
Thanks Kevin
I have used Edublogs. Why do you wish you started in Edublogs?
Speaking of ECSU, you may be interested in our Nutmeg project. We have collaborated with a class at the university. As part of their course work, they had to use Web2.0 tools to create book hooks and response to literature activities for our wikis. Here is an example of a book hook (scroll down to see the voki) http://nutmeg2009.sblc.wikispaces.net/MVP created by one of the students. It was a reading course, not technology. The professor is trying to integrate technology into her courses.
Hi Kevin
I love your Youth Radio blog. I am interested in setting up a Word press blog. Can you tell me what you are using and how you got started? Also, are you happy with Word press. How do you manage the podcasts? Are you paying for a space to store them?
thanks
Rebecca
I play an electronic MIDI keyboard for fun, and I like to compose music. I'm still going through everyone's blogs and trying to keep the details straight! Music technology is one of my hobbies.
Kevin, I participated in your ABC voicethread...(the Letter F !!) I also play guitar (6 string yamaha since '72) and I'm delighted to share my web 2.0 words with you....

Thanks Kevin- we only wanted our last discussion to be somewhat guided by only our first year teachers in a public forum. We have a new post- I hope you have time to comment. I have asked our teachers to stay tuned in to your page!
Hi Kevin,
The Monster Exchange Project is great! If you ever want to try some monster exchanging with us in Ann Arbor, let me know--or some other weird and creative collaborative exchange!
Hi Kevin,
I requested you as a friend. Your profile of teacher, writer, musician & tech guy puts me in the same ballpark as you. I'll be interested in sharing info with you.
Nice to get a message! I'm in my classroom. Thank you for presenting at our Job- a -Like day. I like this site alot. I don't have a My Space Page because I know how much time I would waste on it! I do like feeling connected to other people in the field. Hope you are having a nice day off. See you on Tues.
Since you use edublogs for your blog I was hoping to get a little guidance. I am not really sure how to embed videos and podcasts or how to add buttons/widgets. The help videos didn't seem so helpful. Any ideas where to go for some tech help for a newbie?
Hi Kevin. Wonder what is going on in Clrm 2.0 that has your post about XOs repeating tens of times. Any ideas? Do you get the same view?
Mainly I wanted to encourage your wife to read the OLPC Web site to learn more about the initiative. Her feelings might not change but they make some compelling arguments for why this is a positive development. Since they strongly feel the computers actually belong to the children I'm curious about the difference these computers could make in the life of a family. What if a struggling family business had access to a computer for keeping basic business accounts? Or if families could stay in touch with members who have moved away? The OLPC Foundation doesn't talk up the community angle much but it really interests me. It will be fun to watch.
Thanks for your comments. I will send you the public beta along when ready. :-). I would be highly interested in knowing more about the book you mention on the left. The animation software doesn't let kids write up stories (this is for a fairly young public). You may be interested in checking up a similar project, for older kids adventure author.

This is a repeat of the comment I left on your Blog.
I am involved in a European Union funded education project looking at how to use digital comics in schools http://www.educomics.org
I am looking for websites and forums that focus on the use of digital comics in education, any suggestions would be very welcome.
I have a good list of websites that have comic tools, this is mainly about using the comics within the school.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Joel

I know your offer to track down a library 2.0 site is months old, but I'd still take you up on it if you are willing. Pati

Thanks for your help on embedding videos. How do you add buttons like "member of Classroom 2.0?"
Amy :)
