Hi Bob. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi Bob, didn't intend to drop this thread. Relative to incomes, computers cost 5x more in Ukraine than they do here, so home computers are still rare. Everyone has a phone of course, but I don't think anyone there has quite worked out how best to use them for education.
The World Mind Network is an amazing site. What a concept: webcams all over the world. I'll spend some time there, looking around, showing the kids, making discoveries, observing.
Regarding what's going on in my class--sure, I'll willing to share in a variety of ways. Right now, however, you might change your mind if you saw it--we're going through some evolutionary stage that can only be called mayhem! Creative chaos! I'm thinking we'll settle back down in a week or so, but who knows? (It's hard to balance the introduction of whole new things with the need to keep things "calm" and focused!) What a transition this is...
I am very interested. Please let me know what to do. I have a lot of passionate kids in my class who would love to be involved in "stuff that matters." :)
Hi Bob, thanks for the invite and congratulations on getting anything at all going in Albania. I would love to start some elearning initiatives in Ukraine, where our team is based, but the problem is there are just no computers in the schools.
Hi, Bob, thanks for the invite. I would be curious to know if my school is on par with Albania in terms of using technology in the classroom. I have had to beg and plead just to allow blogging. Anyway, I teach AP English Composition and Language in Grapevine, Texas. Hope you are well.
Thanks Bob. There's so many ideas and direction to take from this site I'm still at the overwhelmed stage.
Hopefully as I meet people I'll start to isolate 'trees' within the 'forest'.

thanks for the info ~ i'm maintaining my dinosaur 'dial up' because i am still trying to figure out which is the best way to upgrade my connectivity while keeping the cost down ~ i'm really not crazy about cable ~
luckily, i have a very high speed connection at work, so can zoom along & play with web 2.0 during the day.

How on earth did you wind up in Albania! In any case, it has to be easier than teaching in the south Bronx!
