Thanks, Obe! I went to sign up immediately and discovered that my email account was already in use. I was perplexed. I requested to reset my password and discovered that I already had an account. This was definitely a Homer Simpson moment. "Doh!" I added the Forum to my Google RSS reader and am delighted to be getting messages about the SmartBoard. I love this piece of technology.

Thanks again for the invite - and in this case the reminder that I already belong. I'll become more active.

Obe, I meant to get a message in here sometime but I'm just too ADHD to "compartmentalize" my time....

thanks so much for providing the online educational resources for your school district - just wanted you to know that Fairfax County teachers appreciate it! Now, I'll TRY my best to compose a more professional, pedagogically-inclined email in the future!!

Hi Obe,

I just joined MAC web 2.0 and I am really excited. Be sure to check out my profile. I am a 1st grade teacher and the CTL for my campus(computer technology liason). I train 1st and 2nd year teachers on basic computer skill applications required by my district. I have taught 18 years and would love to share ideas on how to get started on web 2.0 in as grade classroom. We are a MAC district and we also have 3 Smart boards on my campus. We have about 5,000+ plus students in our district and we are totally MAC across the district. Oh we are a K-5 campus. I hope to hear from you. I will be at the TCEA conference next week in Austin and hope to catch some great classes on web 2.0

Hi Obe,

With your work in Instructional Technology at your County Schools, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Hi Obe!

Happy New Year! I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Virginia!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

RE: PPT @ China: I do have one I made about Mandarin (characters & symbols--studied Chinese calligraphy) and the history. Now, which flash drive is it on??? I'll try to find it, and I also just posted on my ITRT blog about a new site IBM has about the Forbidden City. It looks promising. I just started the ITMA program...no more travel for three years! When we saw you present, we felt like we were looking at a famous movie star ("It's H-I-M!")

Obe: I have a new teacher in my bldg. that was struggling to find resources and I showed her your website (linked to my blog). I thought she was going to cry! Thanks again for your hard work (starting my first semester in ITMA).

Most of our classroom have Sympodiums, I don't know if you've ever used one of those. It's made by Smart Tech, but it's basically a glorified tablet as a monitor that sits on the podium at the front of the classroom. Your write directly to the screen and of course the projector shows what is being written. No touch technology (although I believe that's their next step with it). I'm more a fan of Smartboards but size is the limitation in higher ed. A smaller whiteboard isn't going to work well in a large auditorium, but for the smaller classrooms I think they're great.

Saw you present at VSTE with the ITMA group and it prompted me to join the ITMA program. My wife uses and recommends your site and resources to other teachers all the time.
