ideas for grade 4 math and technology

Hello,

I'm a grade 4 teacher in BC, Canada, and I'm enrolled in a post-grad. program in integrating technology in teaching. I am looking for ideas to integrate technology into math lessons (starting with whole numbers to 10 000 and addition to 10 000,) in order to better engage students in the lessons and increase their understanding of these concepts. Using VoiceThread Technology in the College Classroom

Recently, I decided to make a VoiceThread for use in my 20th C. American Literature class. I started exploring different teaching strategies for my students when I realized that they were not very excited to read and respond in the traditional way. Let me tell you when the penny dropped

So I am in my classroom and I have written a long note on the board and a student is not copying the note. I am slightly dismayed at this and say to the kid "hey you need to get this note down." He looks at me, stands up, steps back, takes his cell phone out of his pocket and takes a few pictures of the board. "I got it" he says.

Yup. I got it too.
