Thinking about the Digital Youth Project

I have the pdf open and I'm wading through it and thinking about the presentation on my experience in using web2.0 technologies in the classroom. It's really interesting, and I am totally getting my geek on just thinking about all the cool stuff. I am just getting resources together right now - and am about to investigate a site that says it records your bibliography online so you don't have to do it the hard way. Sounds great to me.

I also have a classroom full of emo kids,… Continue

Using Web-Based Resouces in Science Investigations

I found during my teaching middle school science and working with inservice teachers, students typically had better science fair projects when they used web-based real world data bases or collaborated with students around the country.

Not all people in USA earn fat salary cheques, there are many people in USA who fall in lower middle class. They also have duties and commitments towards their children education. The point is they have limitations in terms of money to be spend on children education, keeping their budget tight they have to manage everything. It is comfortable if their child is scoring good grades in school but the problem arises if their child is scoring poor grades and he/she needs tutoring. We, all know the… Continue

So much information...

I have always been pretty on top of the most recent technology. I remember Mr. Hodges telling us all about this new thing, "The World Wide Web." We got to go online and get information about our favorite animals before we wrote our reports in seventh grade. I actually turned mine into a hypercard presentation. This was in 1993. This was huge.

I met my husband in high school and he was the senior that worked with the underclassman to e-mail eachother. We sat at my aunt's house and he… Continue

A.P. Calculus in web 2.0

My name is Mackenzie Proe and I am a student at Millis High School, Millis, MA. I am taking a web 2.0 class this year and I am trying to find different ways to apply web 2.0 in the classroom. I have chosen A.P. Calculus as my subject, and I am looking for any insight as to how web 2.0 can help students learn objectives faster and better. An A.P class is mainly on how to take the A.P. test and score to get college credit. With this in mind, there are many deadlines that teachers have to follow… Continue

Technology in education-How far are we?

Cross posted on educatorslog.in

Its a tech world now. We are all trapped in this heavily wired world (now getting wireless). At homes, at workplaces, be it anywhere, its technology all the way. In education, its essentially the computer when we talk of technology in education. Information is just a click away, so why not make the most of it? In the classrooms, instruction for all subjects integrating the computer still needs to be put together by the… Continue
