I've created an easy "step" process by which school districts can actually put in place a very powerful emergency response system to protect the integrity of their curriculum in the face of extended school closings. This step process is very cost-effective and will have minimal impact on hard-pressed district budgets. I'd like to talk more with you about this.
If you know of any districts that are seriously considering options in the face of potential extended school closings, and want to learn about a cost-effective, intuitive, rapid response system that can be put in place in a matter of several weeks in order to address community needs and concerns, please let me know. I'd love to share ideas on this.

Great job with the CLC dinner last night! Great turnout and most that attended seemed to be the teachers that are likely to share that info with their colleagues.

I've I've put together a workshop aimed at district leaders and administrators, and I've titled it "Immunizing Your School Programs Against Extended Closings," (Click here to download a copy of a draft of the workshop offerings,.... The workshop on "immunizing programs" is on the 3rd page.)
Beyond the workshop offering, however, is a greater opportunity to actually put in place an emergency plan of action against extended school closings, whether for H1N1 or any other natural disaster. I've created such a system with a group of programmers out of Silicon Valley. We call this model a 'social learning community" and Penn's College of Liberal & Professional Studies uses this syst.... Other users of this system include Kaplan University. (Here's a link to a summary piece about GoingOn and their open sourc....)
