Thanks for the contact! I am going to talk to my students when we return from Winter Break on January 12. This project fits neatly with some other vocabulary activities we are already doing, sans technology.
Jack,
It is possible that someone here would be interested. I'll talk it up this week and get back to you. If you dont hear back by the end of the week shoot me a reminder. Thanks
Bruce Mullen
Jack, I've shared word of your contest with several colleagues, including friends with the Read-Write-Think website. Sounds like fun! I hope you get lots of participation. - Ford
Jack,
thanks for the invite. Unfortunately, I do not have video production capability in my lab...we're studying XHTML and JavaScript. However, I will forward your invite to other teachers in the district.
Jack ...
Thanks for the invite! I have forwarded the information about the contest to the English Dept. and to our curriculum coordinator. Sounds like a neat way to motivate and teach. Happy New Year.
Thanks Jack,
I have passed the information and link on to our instructional resource trainers that work out in the schools with technology. THey can best share the contest and get it out. SOunds fun. THanks for the heads up. I will share about this on my blog as well.

Jack, thanks for sharing. I will add the link to my course home page and promote it in class. I think I have a handful of students who may like to try this. I am thinking about how I can incorporate this into Business Communication, which is what I am teaching this year.
Hi Jack! I am interested in being involved in your Vocab contest. Can you give me a timeline and a few more details so I know which students to target? Thanks!
Jack, this looks really cool. I'd like to give it a try and post. You'd be shocked at the words little kids know. I'll also forward this on to my high school colleagues. They may get a kick out of it too.
Pete
Hi Jack, Sorry for the slow response. My school has students K-8. However, I can recommend Cary Smith at Greeley Central High School. I'll forward your classroom20 page to him. You'll need to explain more about the project.
Thanks for giving students this unique opporutnity. I will share it with my middle school students and I believe they will love the idea. However, I did notice a video or two that might not be appropriate in content for that age level. Are they screened before they are added?
Thank you for the invitation :) We'll try to participate, but
the YouTube is blocked by DOE; if we cannot unblock it we cannot do it at school :(
What do you think?
Thanks for you quick response. My students are getting a kick out of the watching the videos. Hopefully we can add some ourselves.
Being that I deal with the middle school population, there are some minor concerns I have as to appropriate language. I am not at all in favor of censorship, but I worry about the reaction from some parents. I can be more specific but I do not at all want to discourage people from enjoying these videos for themselves.
Jack,
I truely don't have time to do this contest because I have a couole of teams competing in various contests, but my team teacher may be interested. It seems right up her alley.
