    Hi Jack,

I think I may be able to make my Video Production students enter vocabulary videos for credit. Keep up the good work.

    John
  • Joan Roehre

I'll check it out and thanks for the heads up! Joan
  • Natalie Moten

    Hi Jack,

I will pass this on to the teachers that I work with.

    Natalie
  • Debbie Abilock

Timeline's a bit tight (need more lead time in Jan.) but will check when I'm back in town.
  • Lou Lahana

...i'll pitch it to my students and see if anyone bites...
  • Nancy McKeand

It sounds like a wonderful idea. My students won't be back until Jan 20, so there wouldn't be much time for them to do it. But it would be a really interesting thing to try. Thanks for the info!
  • Sheryl Hess

Fun idea! I will give this information to my colleagues but please know that it will be nearing the end of the semester when we get back and mayhem ensues with finishing up work - but some students may be able to create something with this short lead time. Thank you for this information.
  • Wally Katolik

I'll pass the information to other teachers at school to increase the possiblity for actual participation.
  • Eileen P

Sounds like a fun contest. I'll be sure to share this information.
  • Pam McLeod

Thanks for the link, I will spread the word!
  • Patty McGinnis

Thanks...will pass this on to an English teacher in my school
  • John

May be James Winbush. He has a wonderful high school yearning to expand their possibilities. I will pass this on to him.
  • Elaine Burg

Jack, this looks really fun. I have passed it onto my English colleagues. I hope they will do it.
  • michael edwards

    Hi Jack,

Can you send me some more information and perhaps the other teachers on my team or in my grade would be interested. The name of it sounds intriguing.
  • Dale Singer

    Hi Jack,
As I read the comments below I wonder....What are some of these people doing up at these hours!! It's Christmas Break, sleep in a little, take care of yourselves! HAHA.
I think this is something our students might love to do. I will be talking with the teachers as soon as they come back on Monday. Thanks for doing this, it looks like an awesome way to teach vocab!
  • Mark Scott

Hi Jack, thanks for the information on the Vocab project. All of our students are on break until Jan 21. I will pass word around at that time to see if any are interested.
  • Carolyn Greenberg

Maybe so--sounds interesting--please let me know more. thanks
  • Leslie

    Jack,
I love the Vocab Video idea. I wish they were posted on TeacherTube rather than YouTube. YouTube is blocked by our school system's filter (for obvious reasons.) Any chance of using TeacherTube?
  • Jazmin Barbas

Would this be for Spanish vocabulary?
  • platham

    Jack,
Send me some more information, please. I am a K-12 Learning Specialist for my district. What grade level is your target. Any specific hardware necessary? What will the activities?

    Peggy
  • Kathy Lawrence

I have put out the word to our English chair and TV production teachers. Hope someone finds interest.
  • Linda Brockett

I'll advertise it. Our District is trying to filter out You Tube!
    Linda Brockett, District Librarian
  • David Bell

Thanks, a good study tool. I will send the info out to my middle and secondary schools. I noticed a few typo's on the word list page that someone may want to correct.
  • Shane Farmer

I'll ask a couple of our teachers and see what they say. They'll be back in session next week, but I'll let you know ASAP.
  • Lilly Jenkins

We are gearing up for our state tests soon, but I will ask around... thanks! Have a great holiday...
  • Jazmin Barbas

    Yes, I'm a Spanish Teacher
  • Colleen Nakayama

    Hi Jack,
Students are on break until the 13th but I wil pass on your BrainyFlix.com info to another teacher since I am on sabbatical for the year. Delete Comment

Hey Jack, thanks for the invite to the contest at brainyflix.com. Just a great idea and some very funny video submissions! In Michigan, we test with the ACT, however I can't imagine that the vocabulary is much different between the ACT and SAT tests. I am going to run this contest by our teachers at Bay Middle College (we JUST interviewed for a part-time reading/ELA specialst today!). I think our group of students would latch onto this contest and not even think about the fact that they are learning vocabulary. They are artistically inclined so this would be great fun for them. Monica
  • Ernest Koe

Hi Jack, thanks for the note. How can I help you?
  • Steven Stolpman

I forwarded the rules to my former cooperating teacher. If you get some zany Star Wars themed video from MN then you'll know it was his history class.
  • Kim Woods

Hi Jack! I'm not teaching right now, so can't participate. Sorry!
  • marilyn williford

    Hi Jack,
We're on winter break until Jan. 5th, but I'll run this by my folks when we resume classes.
    thanks for the invite
    Marilyn
  • Michael L. Umphrey

Sorry, Jack, but the curriculum where I teach doesn't include video and some people there take that sort of thing seriously!
  • Jean

Hi, Jack! I teach first grade so I am going to have my students work with some older students on this project. I have passed the info onto the intermediate, jr high, and high school campuses so maybe they will participate also. Thank you! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
  • Charles J

    Hi Jack,

I check around when classes resume.
  • James Rolle

    Jack,

Possibly (I always have an issue with my students being over scheduled). Can you give me the details?

    James
  • James Rolle

    Never mind...I see it now.
  • Lee Ann Spillane

    Hi Jack,
Thanks for the note about the vocab videos. This looks like a project my students would love! We're back in school next week, so I'll run it by them then.

    Happy Holidays to you too!

  • Nicodemus Ford

    Hi, Jack,
Thanks for the invitation. I will send this to the Detroit schools that I was formally associated with and with a Writing Project that would be interested. Keep up the great work!

    Peace.
    Nicodemus
  • Beth Haas

Thanks, Jack. Now this is a possibility for our school. We are anxious to be involved.
    Happy New Year!
    Beth
  • William Kist

Thanks for letting me know! I will spread the word.
  • Shannon Smith

Hi Jack! Thanks for the invitation. I have no students since I'm the school improvement coach, but I'll present the invitation to my teachers during our PLC meetings when we return to school in January.
  • Debra Cotter

Sounds interesting, Jack. Thanks for inviting us to participate. I've sent the information on to a cople of my students who I think would really enjoy this project with a note to pass it on to peers for whom they have email addresses. I also posted it on one of our class wikis to try to catch a few more students' interest. When we return to school, I'll mention it to all of them. Happy New Year!
  • Linda Brockett

Thank you for that modification, Jack. What is School Tube?

The note I sent to Teachers and Admin. follows. I'm in "Silicon Valley", CA. where few of the tech. decision makers are educators.
    Linda

Sounds wonderful! I'll pass you on to a high school nearby, as I am teaching lower elementary school. Good luck with all the fun!
  • Deborah Snyder

I will check with my colleagues and see wheter they would be interested. Thanks for the invitation. I will get back to you once school is back in session.
  • Kimberly Morin

    Jack,
Let me check with our h.s. english teacher. Is h.s. the appropriate grade level?
  • TJ Fletcher

Thanks for the invite...I'll pass it along.
  • Olga Granat

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for the invitation. The project sounds great. I will take this back to my school district next week. Happy New Year!

  • Bob Brewer

Sounds great! My students are all visiting scholars from various countries and very interested in vocabulary. And other students include international high school and college students who will apply to U.S. universities.
