It sounds like a wonderful idea. My students won't be back until Jan 20, so there wouldn't be much time for them to do it. But it would be a really interesting thing to try. Thanks for the info!
Fun idea! I will give this information to my colleagues but please know that it will be nearing the end of the semester when we get back and mayhem ensues with finishing up work - but some students may be able to create something with this short lead time. Thank you for this information.
Hi Jack,
As I read the comments below I wonder....What are some of these people doing up at these hours!! It's Christmas Break, sleep in a little, take care of yourselves! HAHA.
I think this is something our students might love to do. I will be talking with the teachers as soon as they come back on Monday. Thanks for doing this, it looks like an awesome way to teach vocab!
Hi Jack, thanks for the information on the Vocab project. All of our students are on break until Jan 21. I will pass word around at that time to see if any are interested.
Jack,
I love the Vocab Video idea. I wish they were posted on TeacherTube rather than YouTube. YouTube is blocked by our school system's filter (for obvious reasons.) Any chance of using TeacherTube?
Jack,
Send me some more information, please. I am a K-12 Learning Specialist for my district. What grade level is your target. Any specific hardware necessary? What will the activities?
Thanks, a good study tool. I will send the info out to my middle and secondary schools. I noticed a few typo's on the word list page that someone may want to correct.
Hi Jack,
Students are on break until the 13th but I wil pass on your BrainyFlix.com info to another teacher since I am on sabbatical for the year. Delete Comment
Hey Jack, thanks for the invite to the contest at brainyflix.com. Just a great idea and some very funny video submissions! In Michigan, we test with the ACT, however I can't imagine that the vocabulary is much different between the ACT and SAT tests. I am going to run this contest by our teachers at Bay Middle College (we JUST interviewed for a part-time reading/ELA specialst today!). I think our group of students would latch onto this contest and not even think about the fact that they are learning vocabulary. They are artistically inclined so this would be great fun for them. Monica
Hi, Jack! I teach first grade so I am going to have my students work with some older students on this project. I have passed the info onto the intermediate, jr high, and high school campuses so maybe they will participate also. Thank you! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
Hi Jack,
Thanks for the note about the vocab videos. This looks like a project my students would love! We're back in school next week, so I'll run it by them then.
Hi, Jack,
Thanks for the invitation. I will send this to the Detroit schools that I was formally associated with and with a Writing Project that would be interested. Keep up the great work!
Hi Jack! Thanks for the invitation. I have no students since I'm the school improvement coach, but I'll present the invitation to my teachers during our PLC meetings when we return to school in January.
Sounds interesting, Jack. Thanks for inviting us to participate. I've sent the information on to a cople of my students who I think would really enjoy this project with a note to pass it on to peers for whom they have email addresses. I also posted it on one of our class wikis to try to catch a few more students' interest. When we return to school, I'll mention it to all of them. Happy New Year!
I will check with my colleagues and see wheter they would be interested. Thanks for the invitation. I will get back to you once school is back in session.
Sounds great! My students are all visiting scholars from various countries and very interested in vocabulary. And other students include international high school and college students who will apply to U.S. universities.

I think I may be able to make my Video Production students enter vocabulary videos for credit. Keep up the good work.

Can you send me some more information and perhaps the other teachers on my team or in my grade would be interested. The name of it sounds intriguing.
