    Trying to get 9th graders (14 y.o.s) to take their participation in our classroom blog more seriously, i.e., to actually check their spellings, use standard language that doesn't require additional decoding, etc. Anyone with any ideas? I've tried to communicate to them that it is hard to take them seriously if they approach every subject (no matter how serious) with the same level of lassitude and sloppy writing.
