I am currently in my 23rd year of teaching high school science. I am the Science Head Teacher at my school and I am looking to collaborate with other high school biology and environmental science teachers using blogs and/or wikis in the classroom.
Presently, I am in my second year of doctoral work. I aspire to complete my PhD in Education with a specialization in K-12 Educational Leadership by 2011.
Hi Evelyn,
I am an eLearning coach for 25 schools in South-East Melbourne, Victoria Australia, what ever kind of class you want I can connect you and support the class in collaborating with you online.
I have worked with a water testing project collaborating between 7 schools before water.yvelc.vic.edu.au
I have been emailing with an interested Science Coordinator in Melbourne High School that offers Environmental Science at the Senior Level (Victorian Certificate of Education VCE).
I also have strong links with Sweden who participated in our water project I mentioned earlier. A group of nine came and visited us in Melbourne in a home stay situation for 7 days. I think I can bring them on board once we have enough of an idea to go with. I will send you their ideas for a collaboration they used for their grant to visit us by email. It is along similar lines.
Maybe we could start communicating direct through email white.pennie.l@edumail.vic.gov.au
Here is what we have so far:
Title: Collaborative Project on Environmental Science and Sustainability
Participants:
VCE Environmental Science Students, Melbourne, Australia
Long Branch, New Jersey, United States
Halmstad, Sweden
Topic:
How do our ecosystems and land management practices compare between regions?
Scope:
Voluntary Participation
Can we make it possible for other schools to contribute?
How long is long? I think we need to make it so schools can come in and out of the project as they wish.
Cheers,
Pennie White

Hi Evelyn. Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get NJ students involved. Please let me know. Thanks!

I sent your request out to science teachers I worked with on that water testing project. Let's see if there is some interest!
