It's a good seminar! :)
Hi my name is Taylor Walker and I am new to Classroom 2.0. I just wanted to connect with you on here to share some exciting news that is coming out of the Loyola Marymount University community. For my MBA program I have designed a board game for high school and college students to learn about contemporary societal issues while interacting and competing against one another. USA Today and KABC channel 7 news, along with others, have covered our story.
We only have 7 days left on our Kickstarter campaign, and it would help lot if you could support our project and share with anyone else you know in the educational sphere. Thank you.
Any planning for Christmas? Find five amazing activities that are all Christmas themed and very educational for mental growth and development. Read First School’s latest blog to find out! http://bit.ly/1zrnbnV
Check out Hungry Teacher's lesson featured on Ted-Ed with over 200,000 views. If you like, there is more where that came from. www.hungryteacher.com
We have opened up registration and call to present for the 3rd annual Teaching & Learning with the iPad Conference 2014! www.tlipad.com If you are doing great things with the iPad in the classroom submit a proposal. We are looking for expert experience from all curricular areas and age groups.
My apologies...expertise. :)
Teacher Needs Support. I am working on my graduate research study and need perspectives from 10 K-12 teachers on what drives them to learn and engage in virtual communities like C 2.0. Please consider participating as your input and expertize would contribute greatly to the research. Click here for more information.
Our seminar class went well on Wednesday. The students loved Dan Meyer's 'Taco Truck'. I did see that Hungry Teacher released Paper "Planes". Hold on tight and prepare to “take off”. Mathematical Domains: Geometry, Measurement and Data. Grade Level(s): Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth.
Some of the other teachers in our school have found the 'The Frankenstein Project'. Check out, Spider Frankenstein.
Here is an idea for a flipped topic, PIZZA. I have my students call their favorite pizza place and do a little research on their own (diameter and price). They will need to figure out the price per square inch of the pizza. I will partner this topic with Hungry Teacher's lesson, "Any Way You Slice It" (brand new). Wait until you see how challenging that lesson is. If interested, go to www.hungryteacher.com.
Let me know what you think. Saw these guys at a conference in Denver.
If you are representing a commercial entity, please see the specific guidelines on your participation.
