HI from Australia -- This is an invitation to join us for an hour of conversation with a great Canadian 21st century educator -- Ian Jukes. The Slideboom presentation has all the links to Elluminate and the password. The meeting will be on Tuesday, April 13 at 5:30 pm Pacific Daylight time.

I am especially interested in teaching philosophy to teens. Is anyone else thinking about these issues? You can see my video homage to my first philosophy class on my blog @ dabambic.com or here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WLiE0LwzGg&feature=player_embedded

@Sally Arnold. Skype is just like MSN but I think be3tter. Our school division wants us to use Adobe connects as they have purchased licenses. I am on Twitter - bircherd is my log in. I use for it a PLN. I also am trying to restart my blog at www.birchbark.wordpress.com.
Also, I highly recommend Google Reader as part of any PLN. Easy to surf many blogs and the internet comes to you!

Apparently Frapper is packing in the free accounts so I have to look for an alternative members map. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks for this group, Sue. I'm an instructional coach in Northern Alberta near Peace River. Part of my job is to promote the integration of technology into teaching and learning in my focus schools. I'm just starting to learn about Web 2.0. I'm hoping to bring some of these techniques to even those people in my schools who are still struggling with email.
I'm also trying to develop a personal learning network. Are any of you on Twitter? This forum has been a great source of information and inspiration. Thank you!

@ Roger: I did a quick search of Google Apps in Classroom 2.0 and this page came back (http://www.classroom20.com/main/search/search?q=google+apps). There is a small GA group in CR2.0 (http://www.classroom20.com/group/googleappsforeducation). To build a network you can look at all the people who've been in Discussions about the topic (http://www.classroom20.com/main/search/search?q=google+apps) and send them invitations to join. Also if you look at the Google Education site (http://www.google.com/educators/index.html), you can connect with their Teacher Community. The people who go to Google Academy are supposed to do workshops at home. Perhaps there's someone in that group who lives near you.

@ Nick - I'm a PC user but I have to say I love Snagit for all sorts of screencaptures. I'm not sure if they have a Mac edition, but their support is super. I didn't need the more upscale Camatasia. There's a great online tool called Screentoaster (http://www.screentoaster.com/) for screencaptures that is free. For podcasting (voice) I've never heard any Mac people say there's something better than Garage Band, but Audacity is also free and is Mac compatible. There's an online audio editor at Aviary (http://aviary.com/)
