My classroom is a center-based learning environment. We have different centers where the students would go around in groups, each center has a well-designed activity. The centers are: Reading Center, Writing/Journal Center, Manipulatives Center, Art Center, Computer Center and the Whole Group Center. We start and (sometimes) end up our classes in the Whole Group Center where all the encourage to share and discussed what they have learned or what they already know about something (about the lesson). Here, I use a large television connected to a computer to present some pictures, activities, play a short video clip or sometimes sing along. Most of the time I just use a simple presentation but when time allows I prepare my own swf to make the discussion more interactive with the tv/computer. In the Reading Center, I have there some LeapFrog's LeapPad to motivate the students to read and be familiar with phonics and all while playing with its games and reading the stories. The other centers are basically the same as with their names (",)
