Hello Colleagues,

I am wondering if you can help me by providing some info regarding your elementary computer education program. Our district is looking at getting some information from schools that are using Integration Models without Computer Labs.

If we were to move towards an integration model, this staff member would be going into classrooms with laptops and provide skill based instruction on a monthly basis, but may work directly with teachers and students on infusing this directly into the curriculum.

We are looking for feedback on what you are doing.

--Does your district have an integration model? If so, would you mind explaining how this works and what resources (staff and technology) you have put in place to support this?

--Can you share any thoughts or ideas on how to best implement?

Hi there, In NC we use what we call the IMPACT model (an no that is not an acronym, somebody in our state department of public instruction decided to SHOUT that media and tech collaboration would impact student achievement).

This model is about teachers, librarians and tech integration specialist teaching collaboratively. Media and Tech skills are used to engage in core classroom curriculum. The program requires a lot of planning, meeting and project development, but the student projects and achievement are really compelling.
