Our latest internet policy says no VOIP and no social networking. I have already sent feedback outlining the benefits of both (Ning!) but I would be grateful for any links to scholarly type papers in support of VOIP and social networks.

PS Why doesn't Ning spellcheck recognise ning? Or spellcheck for that matter? ;)

Great question and I look forward to the answers. Personally, I would start with identifying the reasons they want to ban VOIP and Social Networks. Take a look at whether their concerns are legitimate or not. The type of literature you want needs to be specific to their concerns.
