PHP for Beginners

Many people are interested in computer programming but feel threatened when they are faced with the idea of actually learning a language or writing a program. However, PHP is a great language for beginners for a variety of reasons. First, PHP addresses many general programming issues that are used in other, more complex, languages. Second, PHP allows the beginning programmer to understand the logic and syntax of programming languages. Finally, PHP tutorials are available, easy to follow, and fun to learn.

PHP Tutorials

There are several tutorial books available to walk the beginning programmer through the programming process. For example, PHP for Dummies is an excellent explanation and introduction to the language, and the book can easily be found online or in most bookstores. Learning PHP does not require any money, though - there are many free, extensive tutorials on the internet. One website, w3schools.com, offers step-by-step tutorials with examples of code that instruct on important functions of PHP and the ways that PHP can interact with web pages and databases to become a powerful tool in design. Tizag.com is another excellent website with tutorials, coding examples, and displays of how the code will output to the user. PHP.net is a website that serves as the hub of the PHP development community, and provides quick references for more experienced programmers while still providing an excellent resources for beginning programmers.

Practical Applications of PHP with ProgrammingHomework.dev

"Learning PHP is a rewarding experience" - say's Jessica Nickel, lead coder at ProgramminghHomework.dev. PHP allows even beginning programmers to make creative, dynamic websites that give the user a better internet experience. Simple projects include setting up a message that changes on a daily basis at the top of a webpage. Other simple projects include setting up tables with information about products and their costs. The functions of PHP allow for a quick, reusable, and easily changeable code for the beginning programmer.

PHP can also be used as an access point to database applications such as SQL or MySQL, which can be helpful for a variety of functions. More advanced projects might include the development of an interactive website with a database of products and ordering information. Other more advanced uses might include setting up a database for qualitative research.

Learning PHP does not require a steep learning curve, but it does require patience to master the basic syntax of the language. However, once this syntax is learned, the programmer is only limited by her own creativity
"Who Can Do My Project?" - DoMyProject.Devtag:www.classroom20.com,2020-12-07:649749:Topic:12749932020-12-07T20:35:07.413ZMarina Popovahttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/marinapopova

The Java programming language was first released in 1995 by Sun Microsystems. Many applications and websites use Java. For example, Java is the foundation for most online games and viewing images in 3-D. It's also used in the business world for e-commerce. According to an East Tennessee State graduate's account of his work as a Java programmer, a Java programmer spends his days writing code, accessing databases, debugging previously written code. The Java programmer might start the day the local updating code to what other team members worked on the day before, then log in to local servers and look at runtime logs to locate problems. Java programmers may troubleshoot code before moving on to writing new code.

However, not all college programs provide extensive Java training, so your education may not stop here or you may choose another route entirely. You can take Java-focused college classes, either in person or online. Or you can even take Java Homework tutorials online if you think you can build an impressive enough portfolio for job applications without having a degree next to your name.

Getting Java Certification

Your next step in successfully getting a job as a Java programmer is obtaining professional certification in Java. This certification provides proof of your expertise to potential employers. You can choose to get certification from Oracle, the company that currently develops Java; most employers value this certificate. According to Tech Republic, Oracle has three categories for Java certification: Standard SE, Mobile ME and Enterprise EE. Each category has its own subset of levels ranging from professional, which covers the fundamentals, to master and expert. An associate or professional SE certification shows you have the necessary skills to program. If you already have a solid Java background and want to be trained in business-level applications, then EE is the path to choose.

Even with the right certification, it can be tough to get hired by a software company without experience. Try starting your own business on the side and do programming projects and mobile applications for clients, suggests John Sonmez, a software app developer and author of numerous developer courses, on the DZone website. You can start building a portfolio for future jobs this way. Sonmez says that some people start out in a quality assurance role and work their way up.

One of the most interesting aspects of student performance was how students treated themselves and others. We assess our students on Courtesy and Respect in every class, and these scores were higher overall than I have seen for any other class. I think there are a few significant reasons for this, In short, students start to feel smart and respected in a programming class so they behave differently.

For those who have taught programming classes, have you seen students carry themselves differently in your programming classes? If so, have you been able to identify what it is about programming that makes students act differently?
Object programming game design enginetag:www.classroom20.com,2010-10-27:649749:Topic:5225222010-10-27T22:57:38.239ZJohn Garretthttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/JohnGarrett
I am running a tech club at the middle school I work at. One of our members is wanting to get into game design. As part of my tech class we work with Lego NXT Mindstorms so students are somewhat familar with object programming. What I am looking for is a good object oriented game design engine that is open source/freeware that is either a web 2.0 tool or a simple install. Thoughts?

Greetings all-

There's a chance that I will be taking over my school's long-running programming class next year. Currently it focuses on C++ and that works well but students are looking for something more dynamic that offers some instant gratification. We are working with Windows machines (don't go there) so that limits any iPhone app creation.

Bottom line: for this high school level programming class should I stick with C++, go with ALICE, javascript or....?

Thanks,
What ever happened to Logo? Why is it that educators haven't embraced Logo? Is it because they are looking for high tech solutions? Is it because Logo is free?

I am amazed and disappointed that Logo hasn't been embraced by educators but I will put this one next to the file folder labeled "Why Don't We Teach the Greek Language"
