Hi everyone! I'm running a community service project @ MIT trying to get kids to make videos about SAT Vocabulary BrainyFlix.com.

I was looking for some feedback:
- How long do you think the videos need to be? For learning words to be efficient and memorable? Should there be a time limit? You can see some examples @ the homepage.
- Why would teachers/students NOT participate? We were fortunate enough to land a corporater sponsor so that we can give out a…

I was looking for some feedback:
- How long do you think the videos need to be? For learning words to be efficient and memorable? Should there be a time limit? You can see some examples @ the homepage.
- Why would teachers/students NOT participate? We were fortunate enough to land a corporater sponsor so that we can give out a small cash prize and iTunes. And making sketches is fun! So to us, this is a no-brainer. But if that were so, we would have a much better conversion rate of viewers signing up to be reminded to participate. Please let me know what people's hangups may be.
- Anything else you think could use improvement or addressing?
I look forward to hearing from you guys :] Request for feedback on new blog on SAT preptag:www.classroom20.com,2008-11-15:649749:Topic:2155352008-11-15T02:58:34.020ZSana Choudaryhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/SanaChoudary

Hi,

I am involved in teaching undergrads on how to clear an "entrance test", much like the GMAT or GRE. I have been watching the threads on teaching math to younger children, but couldn't really bring myself to using ICT in my classes.

My students are from varied backgrounds, and the ones with a non-math background find it hard to get the basic concepts. However, since they would have done these topics at School, I feel they are not ready for a "hands-on" experiential learning methods. For…

My students are from varied backgrounds, and the ones with a non-math background find it hard to get the basic concepts. However, since they would have done these topics at School, I feel they are not ready for a "hands-on" experiential learning methods. For them, a "short-cut" to learning is more important to reach the immediate goal.

If there is anyone who has used ICT with older children (18 years and above), please do let me know. I had tried to do one session to introduce them to internet resources by way of playing with applets to understand graphing. I want to extend that one session to more similar ones.
