Bringing to Israel the model of http://www.hightechhigh.org/raises interesting questions.

One of them is the principal - can a model developed in one country fit the culture and mentality of another? That's a question that was raised about education everywhere looking up to the Finland model.

The other question is if adjustments are made - how are they made without cancelling out the core of the innovation project?

And the last and certainly not least is about this specific project, which is based on Portfolio - when changing the learning model, we must also change the assessment model. The whole system of grades and tests needs to change. Who needs to lead this? I assume universities. But are they equipped to do it?

I will be happy to hear your opinion.

Short Session Description (one line): Connecting, sharing, collaborating using technology to create stories.

Long Description: Storytelling is a natural way of sharing and communicating with the world. Every culture creates and shares stories. Stories are meaningful ways to communicate. While the storytelling has remained an important part of our lives, the way in which we use web 2.0 tools to enhance and share our stories has changed immensely. In this session, we will discuss how and share how these tools enhance communication, literacy and sharing of stories in our world.

Using PuppetPals on the iPad is one (of many) such tools that is easy to use with younger learners. Students can create any story they please in minutes. Learners can create an actor from a photo use any photo they wish as a background or backdrop for a story.

The point of this session is NOT about the tool, but a discussion about how we learners can share their stories with others in the world. Participants are welcome to share their own experiences on how they promote digital storytelling in their classrooms.

Has anyone found calendars useful in the primary classroom? I teach second grade and would love to hear some practical ideas how these help your achievement or productivity. Thanks!

Has anyone used this impossible program? So many glitches on the programming end. We use it with mac and PC. It has been one BIG headache for the last three years. Does anyone have a better grading program?

Hi Folks,
My school is thinking of signing up with Snapgrades.net, but we are trying to find out how effective it is, or not. Please help me out with a few words if you can!
Tom Grading Web-Based Assessmentstag:www.classroom20.com,2008-11-23:649749:Topic:2214002008-11-23T15:15:20.119ZSteve Guditushttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/sguditus
The possibilities to engage and challenge kids here is amazing! But - the age-old question must be answered: how do we assess our students? How do we grade them and provide feedback? I've developed a simple rubric, but am looking for other ideas - big or small - to grade students' work and provide feedback to them. Ideas?
