I just completed my first multimedia presentation with sound. I used Prezi and then created audio files for each slide using Audacity. It took me almost two weeks to learn how to use Prezi effectively and then also determine which online tools are best for recording and embedding sound into my presentation time.

I learned that creating a script in MS Word prior to making an audio file helps my ideas flow smoother when speaking. However, it takes me about the same time to create the audio file without the script and then make additional edits.

I am still trying to figure out how to add closed captioning. I want to find a free online tool that "listens' to my presentation and then displays the captioning in sync with my voice.

Would you please provide me with some suggestions about how to speed up this process? I am also interested in learning any tips you would like to share regarding multimedia presentations.

Thanks for your help!

I have a .wmv file that I am looking to somehow convert to high speed. The original file is over 30 minutes long and I was hoping to condense the entire thing down to only a few minutes. Does anyone have a suggestion for how I might do this? Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Our computers erase and recreate student profiles with each log in. Our computer image currently doesn't have the FLIP software on it, and anything downloaded during the day is erased and the original profile is reset each night. The student's personal drives are not huge, so with all of this, what would be the best, recommended way to download FLIP movies in a manner that alllows students to edit and play with the raw material? We would like to get the video off of the cameras quickly so that other students can use the cameras, but we don't want to lose the ability to edit the projects once the students walk away from the computer.

On my personal computer, I can play with the videos and continue to work on them. What would you recommend for students?

One idea was to encourage students to save it to a large flash drive, but I can not seem to find a way to direct FLIP to save to the flash drive vs. where IT wants to save the project.
Hi!
I'm looking for a simple way to post audio files for students. Many of my students are on dial up connections at home and can't get the files that I inserted into Dreamweaver pages on a page on my class blog ( http://mswift.edublogs.org/student-work/ ). At my school they play nicely. At the kids' homes, they're getting messages that they have to download the file, which takes a LONG time on dial up. I was thinking I could use Gcast or…

I've never used either one and really don't want to spend much more time on this. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I'm not ready for podcasting yet, but hope to get there some day. It has already taken hours, but I don't want the kids to miss the opportunity to share at home or with relatives. I used audacity, but just saved the recordings as .wav files. Converting Quicktime files???tag:www.classroom20.com,2008-07-02:649749:Topic:1561802008-07-02T11:56:14.944ZBritt Gowhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/BrittGow
Can any very resourceful and experienced readers assist me? I am trying to use short video clips from my Panasonic camera - I am able to view them with Quicktime, but the files are too big, even though they are only a few minutes long. I have tried to convert them using Zamzar, but they are taking hours to upload. Is there another solution to reducing their size, so that I can upload them to TeacherTube and/or use them on my blog?
