For example, how medicines have changed over the past 200 years and what this means to us today or how advancements have affected our wellbeing through the introduction of household water and sewerage.

Short Session Description (one line): A Discussion of Follett Software's Aspen SI and Curriculum and Learning functionality.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): In this session we'll be talking about Student Information Systems and how they are evolving into time-saving classroom tools that can help teachers and administrators in just about everything they do. While most districts have a SIS these days that includes a gradebook, but most educators use them to track and report data and alignments to standards. However, today's educators use them to track and report data and align assignments to standards. However, today's educators need more from their Student Information Systems and some new programs, like Follett's Aspen, can help them save time and create a better learning experience for students.

I'm wondering your thoughts on having a standard curriculum map to accompany the Common Core standards so that students moving from state to state and school to school would have an easier transition.
Common Core Standards – Backwards?tag:www.classroom20.com,2012-05-31:649749:Topic:8407562012-05-31T03:04:10.211ZDiana Hansenhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/DianaHansen

Short Session Description (one line): See how our school district is making professional development available to teachers anytime, from anywhere.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): We know how valuable good professional development is, but no one ever has enough time, especially between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. So our school district (14 elementary, 4 secondary buildings) has started using recorded webinars to make professional development available to staff when they have time. Hear what we've learned over the last 18 months and see where we are going in the next 18. You will find some tips on what to (and probably not to!) do with your staff to get them on the track of learning at their convenience. We will talk about the pros and cons of the tools we are using as well as other options available. Examples from other districts will also be shared.
