  to hear from and interact with filmmaker Kembrew McLeod, whose film \
 "Copyright Criminals\" recently aired on PBS's Independent Lens, law p
 rofessor Peter Jaszi, and media producers and educators Chris Runde an
 d Joe Fatheree. The four will discuss the implications of copyright an
 d Fair Use laws in the classroom and share best practices in student m
 edia production. We will also be joined by Annelise Wunderlich, Nation
 al Community Engagement and Education Manager for ITVS, who will prese
 nt film modules and lesson plans based on the film and developed by IT
 VS Community Classroom.\n\nAbout the Film:\nComputers, software and ev
 en cell phones have radically altered our relationship to mass culture
  and technology, providing consumers with the tools to become producer
 s, or \"remixers,\" of their own media. But long before everyday peopl
 e began posting their video mash-ups on the Web, hiphop musicians perf
 ected the art of audio montage through a sport they called \"sampling.
 \" \"Copyright Criminals,\" a documentary by Benjamin Franzen and Kemb
 rew McLeod, examines the creative and commercial value of musical samp
 ling, including the ongoing debates about artistic expression, copyrig
 ht law and (of course) money.\n\nAbout our Guest Speakers:\nKembrew Mc
 Leod is an associate professor of communication studies at the Univers
 ity of Iowa and an independent documentary filmmaker. His books and fi
 lms focus on both popular music and the cultural impact of intellectua
 l property law.\n\nPeter Jaszi is faculty director of the Glushko-Samu
 elson Intellectual Property Law Clinic and professor of law at the Was
 hington College of Law at American University. He holds expertise in i
 ntellectual property and copyright law.\n\nChris Runde is an educator,
  audio engineer, producer and all-round sonic enthusiast. Keenly inter
 ested in the connection between music and social change, he has been t
 eaching digital audio/music production for the Bay Area Video Coalitio
 n's Digital Pathways youth programs since 2007.\n\nJoe Fatheree is an 
 award-winning educator and filmmaker. He is the recipient of numerous 
 educational awards. The NEA named him the top teacher in the nation in
  2009. He is also a former Illinois Teacher of the Year.\n\nAnnelise W
 underlich joined ITVS in 2005, and worked for four years as a producti
 on manager on domestic and international programs before moving to the
