DESCRIPTION:The North TIER Partnership is a consortium of 13 Northern 
 Virginia school divisions, CRSTE, Germanna Community College, ETLO and
  MHz Networks to provide online professional development opportunities
  for\neducators in the state of Virginia, the Capitol Region and beyon
 d.\nThese courses, which are project- and standards-based, include sev
 en online sessions. An instructor trained and certified by EdTech Lead
 ers Online facilitates each course, using a learning model that combin
 es readings and videos, activities, and facilitated peer-to-peer colla
 borative discussions. The focal point of the sessions is online discus
 sion and collaboration, where you can share your ideas, reflections, c
 omments, and questions with your classmates.\nRecently North TIER part
 nered with Colorado State University to provide graduate credit for th
 e technology-infused courses. (Note: Not all courses qualify for gradu
 ate credit.)\n\nSome Quick Facts:\n-Registration runs from September 1
 3 -October 4, 2010, at http://tinyurl.com/yjpol6k\n-Courses are entire
 ly online and take place from October 12 through November 30, 2011.\n-
 $100 per course (30 hours of seat work for non-graduate credit).\n-Gra
 duate credit available through Colorado State University. (Additional 
 requirements for Graduate Credit. Current fee for courses, plus 2 grad
 uate credits is $285)\n-Course are facilitated, but you work at your p
 ace during the week. There is very little synchronous time required.\n
