Hi Brian,

ICT = Information & Communications Technology!

There are a fair few Promethean IWBs in the UK, but more SMARTboards, I would say. It's probably something like (and this is only going off my own experience):
- 60% SMARTboard
- 30% Promethean
- 10% Other (Hitachi Starboard, etc.)

The advantage of a SMARTboard is that you can use your fingers instead of that really annoying pen. Also, you just pick up the colour you want to write with instead of having to select it from the floating menu.

If you *have* to have Prometheans, then you can still use the SMARTboard software with them - it's fantastic. :-)

Hi Doug--I'm a TRT (I'll share what that means if you'll share what ICT means) in Virginia (U.S.). We just got a bunch of Promethean Boards in our school system and our trainer said they're well used in the U.K. Is this true? Any words of advice you want to send our way?
