2 weeks ago I started looking at all the little links that started popping up within Google. The one that got me hooked was iGoogle (life has never been the same). The basic concept for education would be less viral marketing and more viral learning. The keys are to make the game fun and have a 'reward' and then make them apply knowledge to progress (and learn along the way).
I did a 'test' here with a few teachers and along the way they learned about Roman history, Cease Ciphers, WWI, Mussolini, Erwin Rommel, WWII, Enigma Boxes, and finally more recent military history.
As for the other conversation, healthy unfettered conversation, is the best way to move forward. If I ever come off too strong just let me know... I argue strongly, but really am willing to listen and reflect.
