I have Chrome Books in my literacy centers and would like to know which apps work well for literacy based learning in first grade.  I am wanting to work on letter recognition, language skills, phonics, and sight words.  These apps need to be almost self explanatory or need little instruction.  Thank for the feedback!

I came upon this article the other day that I think you might find useful as general tools:

Source: teachhub.com
From super-effective search tricks to Google tools specifically for education to tricks and tips for using Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar, these tricks will surely save you some precious time.

Also, have you looked at SAS Curriculum Pathways? (http://www.sascurriculumpathways.com/portal/) I think you'll find some great resources there. It's a free initiative SAS is during to help promote education and most of the materials are geared at K-12. It is a great resource
