Paper Rater - Free online Grammar Checker, Plagiarism Checker, & Proof Reader!

If you haven't checked out Paper Rater, it is a totally free site (you dont even have to create an account to use it) that checks your paper for spelling errors, grammar errors, plagiarism, and even makes suggestions.

I blogged about it today if you want to check it out!  I showed it to my 6th Graders as a "Very Important Last Minute Tool" to check their Research Papers before turning them in.

I will say I was very intrigued with this site so I had to check it out for myself. Good things being free always make me think of the what if. I used an old paper from a college course and changed a few things in the quotations and the works cited page. I made changes in hoping that a plagiarism alert would pop up. Sadly this did not happen. My paper was cleared and the paper after making my changes was clearly set up for plagiarism. Not to disappoint you, but this site did not work at least with my evidence. This is unfortunate I got excited that there was truly a free "paper rater".

Thanks for this information! This is a really great tool for students to use when they have papers to write for school. It is also helpful to teachers to check the students’ work for plagiarism!

I think that this is a great tool for students to use when doing any type of papers or projects. It can be used by anyone that would like to make sure that the work that they are doing is correct. If we were to give our students helpful sites like these we can expect the best, and possibly even bring it into the classroom and allow students who do not have access to the internet a chance to get the same opportunity.
