Each school year my 8th grade social studies students must select and research a historic person who "made a difference" and then build a 3D Memorial for the person.

During the class presentation they are also required to play a dedication song that pays tribute to the person/event being memorialized.

Over the years students have chosen to memorialize civil rights leaders...

Kathy-This is great! I also love the Civil Rights Facebook...what a wonderful way to get students connected to these American heroes. You will have to show me how to update the Facebook--I would love to create a Fannie Lou Hamer profile!
