Online communities and other Internet resources for educators working with special needs students

I just mentioned this specific discussion forum in this blog post, which cites 5 different online communities for teachers who work special needs students. I hope this post, and the overall series I am currently working on focused on the wider body of resources for special needs educators, can be of use.

I work with special education students and I love it.
Check out Mangomon - They just won a BESSIE award for best educational software for students with special needs. They also have free teacher resources including learning games and interactive vocational and occupational flashcards as well as an excellent blog.
Mangomon looks real interesting. Thanks for mentioning it! Could be a great site to discuss in a future blog post!

I know it has been awhile since your posts, but thank you for this list of communities for special educators.  It was very helpful to me!

Always glad when a post is helpful to someone Mollie - that's what it's all about!

I have noticed that many of us on Classroom 2.0 work with special needs students. I found this interesting article from Best Online Colleges - Myths about Special Education Costs. It is very informative and an interesting take on the subject. I think those of you who work with special needs students will appreciate the attempt to "debunk" the myths about it. I find working in special education is extremely rewarding although challenging.

Thank you! These are all great!
