#2 is a run on sentence. Also you may want to say,"based on Anaya's diction, his attitude is proud." Be careful about your diction when explaining repetitive tone words. All other thoughts all well organized. #94#

1.The tone of the essay is grateful. Anaya learned many things from his grandfather and he guided him by giving him advice with poblems he had.

2.I would describe the authors attitude towards the "old ones" as respectful. As a child he was taught to respect the elderly but he also respects them because of their experiences in life and their wise words.

3.Towards the end of his life the grandfather becomes more impatient. He feels like a child that can't do much for himself. Just like a child, he needs someone to take care of him. He feels impatient since he can't do much.

4.I learned that Anaya's grandfather was wise, quiet, and loving. Anaya's grandfather was experienced in life and gave him advise and this showed that Anaya's grandfather was very wise. His grandfather did not speak much but he knew what to say. He showed his love towards Anaya by caring for him as a child and by guiding him to right path in life.

5.When Anaya's grandfather said to him " know where you stand" after he stepped on an ant bed, he learns that you need to know what you are doing. When Anaya's grandfather tells him to pray for rain he learns that you should not be selfish by praying for material gain and that you should pray for something that would benefit others. When Anaya wanted to quit when he was leraning English, his grandfather told him to have patience. 1.  I think that the tone of this passage is reminiscent. Anaya repeats many times in the story of how he remembers the things that his grandfather would do and how glad he was that he had these people in his life. He missed his grandfathers wisdom.

2. The authors attitude towards the elderly is admiring and respectful. He feels proud that he had them and he knows that he would not be the same if they had not been in his life. In contrast, his attitude towards the young people of today is in a way ashamed. I think that he feels ashamed that his generation has not taken the same steps their elders.

3. When the Granfather is younger and has more life he always seems to have energy to do everything, but as he grows older he has to stay in bed due to his age. Although he does go through these stages as he ages he never loses his wisdom.

4. The grandfather is wise. He always knows the correct advise to give Anaya and left him those wonderful memories so that he wouldnt have to grow up as clueless as the young generation. Another word that i can use to describe Anayas grandfather is quiet. i think that his character doesnt say very much but when he does his words are always helful and full of wisdom. I also think that he is caring. If he did not care for Anaya he would not waste his time to give him his advice and try to look out for him by helping him make better choices.

5. The ant pile was just a sign of the great advice that Anaya's grandfather gave him. This meant for him to be smart about what he does at all times. When he told him to " ten paciencia" he taught him to have patience with others and i can see that Anaya took this advice because he always respects hs elders which at some times does take alot of patience. Also when he told Anaya to pray for rain he taight him to have faith and believe that a higher power will always help them.
