Help and all advice accepted (first posting as well!)

My school is presently "debating" what best practice is for the upgrade of ICT throughout. Presently in the Junior section of the College, we have 10 desktops available for each class.

My teaching partner and I are suggesting that we switch to a mix of laptops and i-pads.

What is the thoughts about netbooks vs laptops, and or i-pads vs tablets?

Thank You!

iPads are tablets and although I have no doubt there will be sizable competition eventually, so far the iPad is far better than any other tablets on the market.

On deciding between iPads and laptops you have to decide what you plan to do with the devices and how they will be deployed in your school.

Definitely consider that the cost of the devices is not just the cost of the devices but also the cost of training, support, and software.

Thanks so much for this - I seem to agree about the ipad being outclassed. Thank you for your input!

Hi Kate,

Can i know the strength of your class? Do students concentrate when you are explaining using the technology?

I appreciate that technology has helped us a lot. I am not sure of how good or bad the ipad or any other device usage in our school yet! Could you please share your experience on how good and productive is the ipad use in the classroom?

Thank you.

My class are very good at concentrating when there is a technology component! Currently looking onto options!
