All 3 links above worked for me. I appreciate the phrase "I've become disillusioned with (ed tech's) application and worth". I want it to work, too! It's easy to find activities that are fun for the students. But how to measure their learning value?
Hi everyone. I am an Illinois second grade teacher working on my Library Information Specialist Endorsement. I have used various Web 2.0 apps but have so much more to learn. This year I am hooking up with 2 or more teachers in 2 other states to use podcasting/internet to share. We are thinking of using photostory to introduce ourselves, then maybe blogging and eventually podcasting with Skype. Privacy is always an issue. Anyway, I am always looking for new ideas. We have Smartboard in our school but it is a traveling board. Last year I had a blog for my parents to access but not too many of them did. I am looking for ways to make the interactions with the other schools meet learning essentials other than just "pen pal" type things. I have been learning Web 2.0 for a year and still feel like such a newbie!

good 'morning' paula and anybody else who has replied to me directly; sorry if i haven't responded... just back here in kodaikanal, KIS, from summer 'vacation' and having a baby 17 days ago. today is day 6 cycle one quarter 1 semester I of the 2009-2010 academic year. just had a discussion on how to get kids to post their social experience, tok (theory of knowledge) and field trip REFLECTIONS ON-LINE... any ideas?

paula, it's certainly nice to be in the position you (we're) in... experience threw fresh eyes! as a former science teacher myself i look forward to seeing your wiki, unfortunately i'm not able (this may be a problem on our end as we do live on top of a mountain in south india)... as for monitoring i tell my students that 'virtually' everything on-line is public and potentially permanent. everything will be monitored and there must be a 'formality' and respect in all postings..

enough for now. love and blessings, bryan

ps is there a spell check here?
My name is Pat Ort. I teach in an alternative high school setting in Michigan. Currently I teach social studies, career prep, and computer related technology. I really like technology and am happy to learn new things I can do in the classroom. I do find, though, that it can be a little overwhelming at times! I have a BS and an MA, but I am taking classes at the local community college in web design and (hopefully soon) animation. I was origianlly a theater arts major. My masters is in reading. I've taught in one-room country schools and large urban schools, elementary, middle school, and high school. I especially like working with other teachers because it really fires me up and inspires me!
I was checking out the wiki and the CR2.0 bookmarks on diigo. Is there any way to arrange the list alphabetically to see if a bookmark has already been added? I'm arriving really late to the party here. I found a great list of top web2.o teaching tools, but I'll bet it's already in the list.
I'm Monica and I'm a bilingual teacher (Spanish) in Waukegan, Illinois. I'm currently teaching 1st grade but have worked with children from preschool-2nd grade. I found classroom 2.0 through twitter, which I also just joined this summer as a networking tool. It is my interest in networking and technology that have prompted me to search and join sites such as this one. I've navigated this site and there's so much, it can be overwhelming. It is still a great place to have as a resource as a new school year is about to begin. Can't wait to have the opportunity to become more involved.
Hello everyone!

I'm Cheska and I'm a newly licensed secondary science teacher. I relocated from Las Vegas NV to upstate NY this summer for grad school, where I am currently attending my first semester for curriculum instruction and ed technology. Mr. R Byrnes from FreeTech4Teachers listed this social network as one of the great ways to create a personal learning network (PLN)-- I grew tired of just reading and RT'ing educators on Twitter and wanted to learn how to become more involved! I agree with one of the other commentors-- it's hard trying to create a systematic self tutorial about all these great classroom tools and figuring ways to apply/implement them in the classroom! As a newbie teacher, I am hoping for more experiences to increase my professional development and have fun along the way :)
Hi I am Kathryn, I teach 9 -10 year olds in New Zealand, I started my first blogg with my class at the beginning of 2009 with edublogs. I am looking to extend my learning about other tools, I will be taking my time first to familiarise myself with this site. I have no immediate goals of what to learn about and implement next,
Good Afternoon all, when is the next live session? I'm new to this classroom and very interested in all technology, thank you, Lin
Hi,
I've just joined here. I'm not sure where to start. I have browsed through the forums and am wondering if there is a quick way to search for specific ideas?
Thanks
Hello,

I am new to the Classroom 2.0 world and excited to be here! I'm looking forward to gleaning new ideas and tools for learning from my colleagues.

Hello,
I am working on my MLS. My technology skills are not the best, so I hope to find new ideas and learn new skills.
Thanks for all the great support.
