In your search for asynchronous and synchronous technology I recommend you you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's web based power point presentation platform. Wiziq has a pretty great basic free service and authorstream is free as well.

Small world! What did you teach at MV? When were you here? I just joined the faculty last year in the LI.
