I took an iTunes U course from Apple, which included three classes.  The course was video of an instructor with video interspersed of real-time use of the equipment and the app.  The course is broken into introduction to the app, use of the app, and design of iTunes U coursework.

One of the things I like best about this type of course is the ability to move at your own pace.  There were pieces of the course, especially in the introductory section, which were redundant for me, so I was able to fast forward two minutes or so in a couple of places.  I also like the fact that you can do the opposite and go back to review things which might have been missed or need clarification.

The disadvantage to a virtual course like this is that you can't stop the instructor to ask questions or get clarification on a point.  If the course is well-made this generally isn't necessary, but I could see it being a problem in less well-managed course.
