I personally have worked with Autistic children in school. There is a very different form of punishment you have to go through. I have found if you say you are going to do something then you have to follow through with it. This is especially true for Autistic children so be prepared to back up what you say because they will see how much they can get away with, but like most kids they can't just turn it off. You have to be patient and give them options. If they feel like they have freedom they will be more likely to cooperate. There are also lots of sensory issues. Some textures feel weird so a student might rip all the tags of their clothes because they can't stand the feel of it. You name it, when working with autistic children one has to be patient and caring. Also you must be ready for anything. With that being said though I love working with Autistic children.
