I LOVE creating new lessons and implementing them into my classroom. However, I feel like I never have the time. Today I was at a staff development training session and the class was titled "Creativity = Lifelong Learning for Secondary Teachers." Sounds like a great class right? I want to implement more creativity into my classroom so my students can be successful in the work world. I was sadly mistaken. The class was a complete and utter flop. The speaker talked about his class that he taught at the University and I was not given any information about how I could actually apply and practice creativity in MY classroom. There are so many different aspects I'd like to include in my classroom, but I'm lacking the time to execute my ideas.

What I'd like to do more of in my classroom:

-lessons that include music and art

maybe have Fridays be dedicated to students performing something (instruments, writing pieces, art projects, etc.)

-individual projects that relate to the student's interests

-creative writing

-group work

-read books that relate to their lives (doesn't exclude classics)

-read classic book and new book that relate and compare/contrast

-digital literacy

-social media
