Hi Dana. I was wondering if you have students or educator friends who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
So nice meeting you. I love the web and technology but sometimes there is no substitute for meeting people in analogue. I hope you enjoy the conference.
Actually, Shayne, they do post here: Room 303 Blog, but I use the classroom blog to communicate with absent students especially and with parents (though I address the posts to students).
Hi Dana. I was looking at your classroom blog and it seems to me that you write to your class and students can comment on what you write. Is that correct? Do you prefer this to them being able to post their own topics?
I've been reading David Daniell's biography of William Tyndale and Tyndale's writings themselves. I'm fascinated by the intersection of the development of English language usage and foundation of Puritan ideas of politcal liberty in one historical figure. Later Shakespearean and Standard Version biblical language stems from what Tyndale penned. The Anglo-American political tradition, including a number of our country's founding principles are found in Tyndale's original expressions. I'm curious how someone so significant to historical developments and who paid with his life for his resistance to political and religious oppression remains largely unknown in our day. My interest in restoring Tyndale to our memory is not motivated by religious belief, but historical legitimacy.
I took a brief look at your blog and was impressed by its quality. Your vocation prompted me to add this "chatter" (which it truly is) here.
