Thanks Barbara for the feedback. I have been currently busy with my other blog: http://call4teacher.blogspot.com and designing a website for my SAT prep class ( will let you know when it is done). I have created a meeting place on ning for my school teachers and admin and this is taking a lto of time to maintain, apart from my MA studies.
I would like to thank you for the links you shared in your comment. I liked the lexipedia the most and I think it has some implication in my SAT prep class. Thanks:)
I shared the WebQuest and the ppt and the students really liked it. They had fun with my intro as I told them, "here is an example from a 'real live teacher' using this in a 'real classroom' with 'real live students'!" I think that they need real world examples as I know it can seem that we "technology nuts" are giving them a lot of options and they can not make the connection with a classroom that they haven't taught in yet.
I will tell them about making the comments...thanks again and please feel free to send classroom examples. We are doing digital images, digital stories, and Inspiration (image maps) the next few weeks.
Thanks, I will send them there to look at it and let you know what they say! I think that it is difficult for students to figure out the fake ones and probably better that they can't in some ways as it really emphasizes how easy it is to make a really “good” fake site. Yes, Please sent me a student sample, that would be great!
Barbara,
We cover website evaluation, as a teacher verifying good sites to use, as well as to educate their students how to evaluate sites. Therefore, do you mind if I share your WebQuest with my students as an example? This is great! Also, I really like the aesthetics of the Zunal better than the QuestGarden and Filamentality WebQuest authoring and hosting tools. Have you used QuestGarden or Filamentality? If so how does Zunal compare as far as usability and features?
We have experimented some with those, but decided this semester to experiment with wiki WebQuests. The idea was to become better with using wikis (we are doing some research with wikis) while learning about WebQuests. This was the first exposure to both for these teacher ed seniors. I think that they did a nice job and they did these from scratch in a week. The response from the students was positive as well as those that have looked at them.
Barbara,
The teacher ed students that I teach just completed an assignment where we created wiki WebQuests. Check it out and see what you think. Also, check out and comment on some of the conversations on my classroom 2.0 homepage.

Hi Barbara- you were correct with the New Zealand thing, I'm a Brit living abroad. As for the brocolli, it's an analogy for my vision of school values!
Hi Barbara. I was wondering if you have students or educator contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
With your interest in new Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
