I agree whole-heartedly with the idea that students need to take responsibility for their own learning. However, with the constructivist approach and the idea of teachers stepping down from the focus of the classroom so the lessons can be more student centered, it only logically follows that students will have more responsibility for their own learning. Of course that doesn't mean that many students will approach learning in this manner as willing participants. I know my students would prefer it if I gave them the information they need to take the test and then be done with it.<br />

I also like the author's comment on the irony of the students in the video making a point of so many people earning so little, yet there they are in their lecture hall using laptops, cell phones, and IPods. And how about the fact that they have to multi-task to get in all that music listening and talking on the cell phone? Silly!
