When should kids start learning about online safety?

Teaching kids about the web is no longer confined to the classroom.   With all our gadgets enabled with web access, it’s no wonder kids can go online anytime, anywhere.  I see parents use these mobile devices synonymously as pacifiers.  Parents may have a specific site for the kids, however, most of the time the kids get to choose what and where they want to go.

With online access being so easy, when should you start teaching kids about online safety?  I recently read two books created by Savvy Cyber Kids.  The heroine and hero of the books, CyberPrincess and CyberThunder, are champions of online safety.   The books are beautifully illustrated and can be used by kids of all ages.   Check it out!

I plan to check these books out for my students. As you said it's important at any time. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Trish,

Great!  There's free teaching resources on the site too.  I hope you find them valuable.  I'd love to get your feedback.
