Yesterday our class invited ten teachers from our district to come for an afternoon carousel of technology in the classroom ideas. I have run workshops numerous times in the past but this one was particularly interesting for me. The students had practiced their presentations. They had exciting projects and tools they wanted to share. As the carousel got going I realized I was free to roam. It gave me an excellent opportunity to watch my students share their excitement. What an excellent real life chance to be a speaker. Even students who began the process as hesitant or shy finished with confidence and eagerness to share their ideas and experiences.

We had eleven stations running:
1. iPad App Reviews by Students
2. A World in Motion Toy Car Challenge
3. Prezi
4. MangaHigh
5. Photo Story Projects
6. Pearson Online eTexts
7. Our Class Blog at Edublogs.org
8. Assistive Technology - Dragon Speaking, Kurzweil and WordQ
9. Kodu and Minecraft - Game Design
10. Interactive Blackboard - Epson BrightLink projector
11. Bridge Construction Challenge and Cool Math Bridge Building Game

I will definitely pursue more of these types of carousels for staff, parents and board personnel. It was certainly a win-win experience.

Wow, what a great idea!  There are some many benefits to this approach that I don't know where to begin.  The next technology presentation I do I think I am going to try this approach.  Thanks for sharing!  :)
