those are great tools; I have used google wave, google docs , and mediawiki to create shared notes and project specifications. those work great for computer science classes.

I also teach math; and those things are not very good for giving notes in real time. the windows journal allows me to hand write mathematics in standard notation and save it and share it on my cms.
