Mid-Pacific ICT Center Summer 2009 Faculty Development Week San Francisco

The National Science Foundation has provided grant funding for the Mid-Pacific Information and Communications Technologies Center to coordinate, improve and promote ICT education, with an emphasis on 2-year colleges, in northern California, northern Nevada, southern Oregon, Hawaii and the Pacific Territories.

Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) is an umbrella term, widely used outside the U.S. and in the U.N., for all rapidly converging computer, software, networking, telecommunications, Internet, programming and information systems technologies.

MPICT’s 4.5 day Summer 2009 Faculty Development Week at City College of San Francisco’s
Ocean campus , hosted by the CNIT Department, will provide: “Train the trainer” tracks to prepare faculty to teach new courses:

1. Ethical Hacking and Network Defense
2. iPhone Programming
3. Cisco Networking Academy CCNA Security
Pedagogical tracks to improve educational experiences:
4. Adding Scenario Based Learning to Your Classroom (the Experiential Learning Center)
5. ICT Teaching and Learning Toolkit

This event is free to qualified ICT educators, who may be eligible for travel cost reimbursements.
