How do you define literacy? I'm tending to think literacy is the ability
to understand and convey meaning using a medium.
Art, writing, music, mathematics, film, dance, what have I forgotten?
I agree
And also, when we talk about literacy, I think the ability to understand and re-conceive information for a specific purpose has to be thrown into the mix. At least, I believe that literacy is more than just reading and writing, which is the old stand-by definitions.
