Well, today was a bit of a wild one here at the ole Western Middle School. Student behavior was not where it was supposed to be (to say the least). Fridays typically are challenging anyway, but today was especially difficult...I feel like it's the warm weather's fault. Last block was especially tough because the students would not get focused. Indeed, there had been a couple of fights in related arts, so the students were especially talkative about that. Furthermore, two of the related arts teachers were absent, so the students were wild in their classrooms anyway. Thus, by the time they got to my room they were especially wound up. It took about 30 minutes to get everyone calmed down to where I wanted them. Unfortunately, I had to send two students out of class. Anyway, here is the lesson plan that I (attempted to) teach Friday:

1. Sponge over volume and surface area
2. Review for Biggest Gainer with some notes and some extra credit problems
3. Problem 2.1 in our textbooks.

However, I was not able to comeplete Problem 2.1 with my students because I had to spend a lot of time correcting behaviors. Indeed, students had to be quiet the last 30 minutes of class and work on problems because I was not getting anywhere trying to complete Problem 2.1. Anyway, here's to Monday being better!
