I found this article on copyright issues very interesting because it is so true that even as educators we sometimes forget when working on video projects or any projects for that matter about copyrights and getting permission to use such items. What this article referred to putting in music to enhance video projects yet most people do not obtain proper permission for its use. I think many people hide behind the fact that it is being used for educational purposes but as it states in the article we only have permission if what we are using is directly related to the content not just background music for a slide show or something of the sort. The other interesting point is that some people believe that they can use music as long as it was purchased legally, but this article puts into perspective the fact that even when bought legally it is purchased for another use. This article was very helpful because now that I know about this I will be careful what I use or allow students to use in my class.
