Another Presentation About Web2.0 Tools for Teachers

Wow, it has only been a year and a half since I did my Web 2.0 workshop in Pakistan, and I'm already seeing more promising tools worth checking out for my next workshop. This is for the Nigerian International Schools Conference that my school is hosting in Lagos.

Here's the outline, and I would appreciate it if you could recommend websites showcasing actual examples (of student work) of these tools being used in Grade 5-12 classrooms:

Learning/Communication/Collaborative Tools
  1. Digital Storytelling (Tikatok, Panraven)
  2. Timeline (OurStory, XTimeline)
  3. Blogging (Blogger, Wordpress)
  4. Wikis (Wetpaint, Wikispaces)
  5. Social bookmarking (Diigo, Clipmarks)
  6. Course Management System (Ning, Edmodo)
  7. Google Services (Website, Notepad, Google Documents, Bookmarks)

Teacher Tools:
  1. Quia
  2. SpellingCity
  3. Flashcard Friends

See student-made digital stories at ePals and CyberSmart. The CyberSmart site has some great one-minute stories from students in Senegal, with closed captioning in English, as the students speak French.

Also check out the unit on "digital storytelling" on ePals: http://www.epals.com/projects/info.aspx?DivID=Digital_overview
You can upload your student stories at ePals for worldwide viewing.
